The Above pump station is constructed inside STP Area situated in Industrial area 5 Sharjah , to pump the required quantity of irrigation water to samnan overhead irrigation tank and excess water to the sea. TSE water from Sharjah STP phase 2 & 3 enter in wet well no 2 in two location via two no 900 mm dia. GRP pipe through penstock gate no EPE 261, EPE 262. Further TSE water from Sharjah STP phase 4 and phase 5  enter wet well no 1 in two location via 1200 mm dia. GRP pipe through penstock gate no EPE 461, EPE 561. Seven no TSE Pump is installed in EPS 6 pump station. Five no pump is connected to wet well no 1 and two no pump is connected to wet well no 2. The EPS 6 pump station can be operated in three different modes. To facilitate individual operation from wet well 1 and 2 there is a motorized butterfly no EVE 475 is installed in the delivery header for isolation.

Five no pumps can be operated from wet well no 1 to discharge water to Samnan tank and Rifaah for sea out fall. Two no pump can be operated from wet well no 2 to deliver water in the existing TSE network as per operators requirement. All seven pumps can be operated together to discharge TSE water to sea out fall and, in Samnan tank also in the TSE network as per operator’s requirement. During combine operation of all seven pumps the butterfly valve EVE 475 will be kept open. TSE discharge from EPS 6 having two branches 1000 dia. &600 dia. There are two no flow meter no FIT 461 , FIT 261 on the 1000 dia. and 600 dia. pipe line respectively which will measure flow of TSE water to the rising main. There is a needle valve no EVE 494 and butterfly valves no EVE 503, EVE 504 at Rifaah which will control discharge of TSE water to the sea out fall. The control valve set pressure will be monitored by pressure transmitter no PIT 463.

There is a needle valve no EVE 488 is installed on 1400 dia. pipe line to control the flow of TSE water to Samnan reservoir, the flow control will be monitored by pressure transmitter no PIT 462.

The branch lines to Samnan tank having four no 600 dia. globe valve which will control flow of TSE water to Samnan reservoir. The branch line of Samnan reservoir having flow meter no FIT 462 which will measure flow of TSE water to Samnan reservoir. A set of instruments such as pressure transmitter, Ultrasonic level indicator, level switch, pressure gauges are introduced in the plant in various locations for monitoring and control of EPS 6 pump station. A surge protection system include surge vessels, compressors, PLC, pressure relief valve, pressure gauge and level radar.

The EPS 6 pump station is having 3 no stand by Diesel generator for emergency operation of the pump station in case of power failure. The entire Pump station and remote location at Samnan and Rifaah are controlled by PLC and all equipment status is also noted in HMI. The MCC and Control room temperature is controlled by package AC with ducted air supply. Pump room is having ventilation system with supply fan. There is lighting protection system and earthing system. The fire alarm and fire suppression system is also available in the pump station.
